Rawalpindi Opens First World-Class Swimming Pool

Rawalpindi has marked a major milestone with the inauguration of its first-ever international-standard swimming pool, equipped with modern filtration, heating, and timing systems that meet global competition standards. The facility was inaugurated by Punjab Minister for Sports Faisal Ayub Khokhar, who also opened a newly constructed players’ hostel featuring 80 beds and advanced training amenities.
Built at a cost of Rs 217 million, the swimming pool aims to promote sports excellence, while the hostel—completed for Rs 181 million—supports athlete development. Khokhar announced plans for a multipurpose sports complex in Rawalpindi and pledged to extend similar initiatives to other districts, aligning with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of strengthening sports infrastructure across Punjab.
