Punjab sees surge in driving licences, strict action planned

Ali Raza Wajid : Lahore: A meeting chaired by DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir highlighted a significant increase in driving licence issuance across the province. Officials reported that over 200,000 citizens applied for learner, regular, and international licences, while more than 202,000 individuals successfully obtained regular licences. Additionally, over 1,000 international permits were issued and 1,600 duplicate licences provided. Around 126,000 citizens benefited from the online licensing system. Authorities emphasized that citizens can obtain licences through service centers and online portals. The DIG warned that driving without a valid licence is a legal offence and announced a strict crackdown against violators to ensure road safety and regulatory compliance.
