Punjab reviews WASA sewerage projects and market upgrades under development program

Muhammad Muzamil Awan: Gujranwala: A high-level meeting chaired by Provincial Ministers Mian Zeeshan Rafique and Bilal Yasin, along with Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, reviewed progress under the Punjab Development Program in Gujranwala and Wazirabad. Officials discussed ongoing WASA sewerage and drainage projects, model villages, and market upgradation initiatives. The Deputy Commissioner briefed that these projects will significantly improve drainage systems, especially in low-lying areas, ensuring timely water disposal during rains and uninterrupted traffic flow. Authorities emphasized resolving implementation challenges and maintaining development standards. The program aims to modernize urban infrastructure, enhance civic facilities, and improve environmental conditions in key districts.
