Punjab Orders Fire Safety Measures for All Buildings Across the Province

LAHORE: The Punjab government has made it mandatory to keep all entry and exit routes clear in buildings across the province and ensure proper and visible safety signage. During a briefing, it was stated that on the identification of Rescue 1122, WASA will install fire hydrants at geo-tagged locations, while external fire hydrants will be installed in all buildings within two weeks. Rescue 1122 Punjab will be equipped with modern technology, including thermal and firefighting drones, and will geo-tag key locations province-wide. The government will consult industrial stakeholders to ensure human and building safety. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that every building, school, market, and high-rise in Punjab must be made safe, warning that negligence endangering lives will not be tolerated.
