Punjab extends private school registration to four years with online process

Lahore: An important meeting of private schools was held under the chairmanship of Punjab School Education Secretary Mudassar Riaz Malik, where several major decisions were reviewed to ease registration and improve regulation. Officials said private school registration will be extended from one year to four years, while applications and building fitness certificates will be processed online to reduce visits to authority offices. The department has also prepared an academic calendar with at least 227 working days, including 190 days for teaching and the remaining days for examinations. Instructions were also discussed regarding the removal of commercialization fee and strict implementation of the rule requiring private schools to educate 10% deserving students free of cost. Can these reforms improve private school governance in Punjab?
