Lahore: Punjab Revenue Authority has decided to take strict action against business centers that are not implementing the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System. In a meeting chaired by PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Supra, divisional performance, business registration, EIMS implementation, and tax collection targets were reviewed in detail. Enforcement officers were directed to speed up awareness and enforcement campaigns to ensure the mandatory use of invoice monitoring. The chairman ordered immediate action and heavy penalties over complaints of fake, unverified, or non-QR code receipts. Officials said digitalization and enforcement are essential for improving transparency, increasing revenue, expanding the tax net, and providing better facilities to taxpayers. Can digital invoice monitoring reduce tax leakage in Punjab?
