Punjab CM directs strict monitoring of ongoing WASA projects before monsoon season

Lahore: Under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Marium Nawaz, strict monitoring of WASA Punjab’s ongoing projects has been initiated to ensure timely completion before the monsoon season. The projects include the completion of 2265 kilometers of sewage lines, 189 kilometers of water drains, and 772 kilometers of roads by June 30. The ongoing projects are expected to enhance the drainage system significantly, with 86 new disposal stations and 9 underground water tanks set to improve stormwater management. Minister for Housing Punjab, Bilal Yaseen, emphasized zero tolerance for delays and instructed officials to ramp up workforce during all shifts for timely completion. The total cost of these development projects amounts to 205 billion rupees, aiming to ensure effective urban flooding control and drainage systems.
