Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Launches AI Hub to Strengthen Security Response

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has e-launched the Artificial Intelligence Hub Punjab alongside the Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center (PIFTAC), with the system aimed at improving threat detection, intelligence coordination and faster response to emerging security challenges.

According to APP, the chief minister said Punjab had become the first province in Pakistan to establish an Artificial Intelligence Hub. The AI-enabled system is expected to help generate digital alerts for district coordination committees so potential problems can be identified before they develop into major incidents.

The hub is therefore being presented primarily as part of Punjab’s security and intelligence infrastructure, rather than as a general-purpose startup or student innovation centre.
