Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Announces 7 More Electric Buses for Sargodha

Sargodha: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced seven additional electric buses for Sargodha, further expanding the city’s electric public transport service. The announcement was made during a meeting with provincial lawmakers from Sargodha on September 4, 2026.

Lawmakers told the chief minister that thousands of passengers are already using electric bus services daily on routes serving Bhalwal, Bhera, Sillanwali, University, DHQ, Shaheenabad, Kot Momin and Tehsil Sahiwal.

Electric bus operations were originally launched in Sargodha in September 2025. At that time, the Punjab government said 60 electric buses were planned for Sargodha city and 105 for the wider Sargodha Division. The newly announced seven buses represent an additional expansion of the service.
