Punjab approves modern Green Bus shelter project across province

Lahore: The Punjab Local Government Department has approved the construction of modern bus shelter stands under the Green Bus project to improve public transport facilities. According to official documents, nearly 2,600 state-of-the-art bus shelters will be built across the province, including Lahore. A budget demand of Rs1.80 billion has been submitted to the Finance Department for formal approval. Deputy Commissioners conducted surveys that guided the selection of locations in major cities. The shelters will serve as designated stops for Green Buses and will offer key passenger amenities such as clean drinking water, seating arrangements, and space for prayer. Authorities say the project aims to provide safer, more comfortable, and organized commuting facilities for urban travelers.
