PTA issues district internet licenses to boost broadband access

Islamabad: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has issued district-level internet licenses across the country to expand broadband access and encourage smaller service providers. Officials state that the move will improve connectivity in underserved and remote areas while increasing competition in the telecom sector. This development under the Strategic Innovations & Future Real Estate Cluster reflects a Government Policy shift toward enhancing digital infrastructure and nationwide connectivity. For Lahore and Punjab, improved internet services can support businesses, education, and digital platforms, boosting overall economic activity.
