Lahore: Director General PDMA Punjab, Umar Abbas Mela, visited the PDMA Jallo Warehouse to review emergency preparedness and inspect the availability of relief supplies. During the visit, he examined the inventory, quality of relief goods and warehouse records, while also assessing the operational readiness of emergency equipment. The DG directed officials to ensure that relief items remain fully stocked and ready for immediate deployment during floods, heavy rains and other emergencies. He emphasized that all relevant departments should remain on high alert to ensure a rapid response in any emergency situation. He further stated that, under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, efforts are being made to strengthen the capacity of disaster management institutions across the province. Citizens were reminded to contact the PDMA Helpline 1129 in case of emergencies.
