Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Announce Nationwide Strike After Talks Fail

Islamabad: The All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association (APPPOA) has announced a nationwide strike after negotiations with the federal government over the newly introduced daily petroleum pricing mechanism failed to produce an agreement. The association says the daily price revision system is not workable for petrol pump operators and has also demanded a review of dealer commissions. According to APPPOA, privately owned petrol pumps across the country are expected to suspend fuel sales from midnight until their demands are addressed. Meanwhile, the Petroleum Division has stated that discussions with stakeholders will continue and has indicated that company-owned and operated fuel stations may remain functional to help maintain fuel supplies.
