OGDC Discovers Major Oil and Gas Reserves in Sanghar District

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has announced a significant hydrocarbon discovery at its Bobi Deep-1 exploratory well in Sanghar, Sindh. The well is producing approximately 2,000 barrels of oil per day alongside 1.1 million standard cubic feet of gas daily, indicating strong reserves in the Lower Goru Formation. This marks the first successful find in the Massive Sand play of the region, opening new avenues for further exploration. Officials stated that the discovery is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s domestic energy production, reduce dependency on imported fuels, and provide a boost to the national energy sector. Analysts see this as a positive development for the country’s energy security and long-term economic growth.
