The National Highway Authority (NHA) has approved over Rs 22 billion for major road development projects in the Chitral region, marking a significant step toward improving connectivity in northern Pakistan. The investment will support upgrades and new construction across key routes that link Upper and Lower Chitral with major national highways.Officials say the projects aim to enhance mobility, promote tourism, support trade, and provide safer travel for local communities. Improved road infrastructure is expected to reduce travel times, strengthen access to remote valleys, and boost economic activity across the region. The initiative aligns with the government’s broader strategy to enhance transportation networks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and promote sustainable regional development.
