Newly built Dera Ghazi Khan bridge collapses after rainfall

Dera Ghazi Khan: A recently inaugurated bridge and road project worth Rs. 130 million in Dera Ghazi Khan collapsed shortly after completion. The Bara Bridge and Vador Road suffered damage following recent rainfall and minor flow in the Vador Hill torrent, disrupting connectivity for local communities. The incident has raised concerns over construction quality, oversight, and use of materials. Residents are demanding an urgent investigation into potential negligence, substandard construction, and corruption, alongside immediate restoration of the route. Authorities are expected to review safety standards and ensure accountability while repairing the damaged infrastructure to restore transportation and economic activity in the region.
