LDA begins traffic modelling at Johar Town choke point

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has initiated traffic modelling work at the busy Qadir Topas Chowk, also known as Chhatri Wala Chowk, in Johar Town to address long-standing congestion issues. Officials said the project aims to streamline traffic flow and provide relief to commuters facing daily bottlenecks. As part of the plan, a new road is being constructed through Union Town that will connect directly to the chowk, enabling smoother vehicle diversion. The initiative is expected to significantly ease pressure from traffic coming via Adda Plot and Pine Avenue towards the motorway. Authorities believe the intervention will reduce travel time and improve overall mobility in southern Lahore once modelling and road works are completed.
