Lahore completes polio drive, vaccinates over 22 lakh children

Lahore: The seven-day anti-polio campaign in Lahore has been successfully completed, with health teams vaccinating more children than the set target. A polio review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Ijaz, where officials reviewed the campaign’s overall progress.
According to the briefing given by CEO Health Dr Asif Arbab Khan, the target was to vaccinate 2,285,477 children during the campaign, while 2,288,978 children were administered polio drops in seven days. The administration said all 711 reported refusal cases were also covered during the campaign.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Abdullah Khan, assistant commissioners, additional assistant commissioners, DDHOs and international observers. Deputy Commissioner Lahore appreciated the efforts of polio teams, health workers and administration for completing the campaign successfully.
