Lahore Canal Road Floating Canal Lining Begins, Floating Restaurant Planned

LAHORE: Concrete lining work has begun on the Floating Canal located on Lahore’s Canal Road as part of a development project supervised by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA). Nearly half a kilometre of the canal has been reinforced with concrete on both sides and the bed to strengthen infrastructure and ensure durability. Following completion of the lining, PHA has granted clearance to restore water flow. The next phase includes beautification, light fencing, kitchen and parking areas, and plantation. The project also includes Lahore’s first floating restaurant, with retaining walls and a concrete bed already completed. Authorities say the project will enhance tourism and urban environment.
