Three New Underpasses to Be Built on Rawalpindi’s Peshawar Road

RAWALPINDI: Construction of three new underpasses on Peshawar Road will begin in mid-February 2026 and is scheduled for completion by May 30, 2026. The Rs8.83 billion project includes underpasses at Qasim Market–Race Course Chowk, Qabristan Chowk, and Chairing Cross Chowk. Preliminary work such as relocation of electricity, gas, and sewerage lines has already started, along with the removal of trees where required. Authorities have planned to maintain one-way traffic during construction to reduce disruption. Officials stated the project will ensure signal-free traffic flow and significantly improve connectivity on Rawalpindi’s busiest corridor.
