Lahore accelerates heritage revival as Neela Gumbad and Old City projects move forward

Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Numan Yousaf chaired a briefing meeting on ongoing development and restoration work in the city’s historical and cultural zones, where officials reviewed progress on several major projects. According to the briefing, on-ground work is underway on the underground parking and commercial area at Neela Gumbad, while restoration of Pak Tea House, Pak Surgical Building, Ewing Hall, Old State Bank, and College Hall is also in progress. Work is also continuing on 10 buildings in Mall Road, Library Road, Nabha Road, and Old Anarkali, while utilities in Circular Garden areas are being shifted underground. Such projects can improve tourism, business activity, heritage value, and investor confidence. Can this revival reshape Lahore’s urban identity?
