KP to Spend Rs 100 Billion on Peshawar Roads and Development

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a Rs 100 billion development drive aimed at upgrading Peshawar’s road infrastructure and urban facilities to restore the city’s historic importance and improve livability.According to officials, the plan focuses on the rehabilitation and expansion of key roads, traffic corridors, and civic infrastructure across the provincial capital. The initiative is expected to ease congestion, improve connectivity, and enhance the overall urban environment.Authorities said the project will be implemented in phases, with priority given to major arteries and high-traffic areas. The development drive is also expected to create employment opportunities and support economic activity.Officials emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing Peshawar while preserving its cultural identity and supporting long-term urban growth.
