Karachi: The newly completed Baldia Sports Complex in District Keamari is expected to be inaugurated on October 10, 2026, according to the latest supplied update. Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is being named as the expected inaugurator, although I could not yet locate a fresh official programme or invitation independently confirming the October 10 ceremony.
The project itself is well documented. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab laid its foundation stone in June 2025, with the scheme reported at about Rs1.4 billion. Contemporary reports described the site as approximately 25 acres, with facilities planned for football, hockey, cricket and other sports, along with public recreational spaces.
The latest October 8 briefing provides an important status update: Baldia Town Chairman Abdul Karim Askani told Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that the Baldia Sports Complex had been completed. On October 9, Mayor Karachi also said that a new sports complex in Baldia was due to be inaugurated.
There is also a constituency point worth correcting. The relevant National Assembly member is Syed Mustafa Kamal, not “Abdul Mustafa Kamal.” The National Assembly officially lists him as the MNA for NA-242 Karachi Keamari-I, the constituency covering Baldia Town. This is useful geographic context, but it should not be used to assign political credit or responsibility for the municipal project without evidence.
Bilawal had already inaugurated Treatment Plant-I at Haroonabad on October 3, a 35-MGD wastewater treatment and reuse facility under the Greater Karachi Sewerage Plan.
