Islamabad to Monitor Muharram Processions with Drones & Digital Surveillance

Islamabad: Authorities have announced that Muharram processions and religious gatherings in the federal capital will be monitored using drones and advanced digital surveillance. This is part of a comprehensive security plan. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired a high-level meeting and directed strict implementation of the code of conduct. A mobile app “Mehfooz Muharram” has been launched for citizens to report suspicious activities. Over 15,000 security personnel, more than 3,000 CCTV cameras, and a central Safe City control room will be operational. Geo-tagging of all imambargahs and procession routes has been completed.
