Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, visited the Safe City Headquarters and chaired a special meeting to review progress on the Islamabad Safe City Expansion Project. Officials informed the meeting that 85 percent of the overall project has been completed, including installation of 85 percent of the planned new cameras. Around 415 kilometres of optical fibre has been laid, while work on the data centre, cyber architecture and cybersecurity has reached 80 percent. Mohsin Naqvi directed authorities to complete the expansion project by September 30 and also set a three-month deadline for the modern Fusion Center. He said the objective is to develop Islamabad Safe City into a world-class institution equipped with advanced technology for effective surveillance, citizen safety and rapid response.
