Karachi: Pakistan’s cement industry recorded 64 per cent overall capacity utilisation in July 2026, supported by improving domestic demand and higher construction activity, according to Arif Habib Limited research based on industry data. Total cement dispatches increased 6 per cent year-on-year to 4.48 million tonnes, while local dispatches rose 17 per cent to 3.78 million tonnes. Export dispatches, however, declined nearly 30 per cent to 0.71 million tonnes. AHL’s detailed August 5 research report places capacity utilisation at 55 per cent in the North and 95 per cent in the South. The brokerage expects cement dispatches to grow around 7–8 per cent during FY2027, although the outlook remains dependent on domestic construction activity, economic conditions and export demand.
