Inactive Filtration Plant Deprives Johar Town Residents of Clean Water

Residents of Jatt Chowk in Johar Town, Lahore, are facing severe difficulties due to a filtration plant that has remained non-functional for the past several months. The facility, installed to provide clean drinking water, is now abandoned, with dry taps and garbage piles surrounding the site. Locals report being forced to purchase expensive water or rely on unsafe sources, leading to health concerns, especially for children and the elderly. Poor sanitation around the plant has also resulted in foul odors and unhygienic conditions. Despite repeated complaints to WASA Lahore, residents claim no effective action has been taken. Citizens have urged authorities to immediately restore the plant, improve cleanliness, and ensure access to safe drinking water.
