Lahore: Secretary Food Safety Dr. Kiran Khurshid visited Kana Kacha Sabzi Mandi to review the prevailing prices of fruits and vegetables and assess market management. The Deputy Commissioner and price control teams were also present during the inspection. Officials compared open market rates with last year’s figures and noted that prices of most commodities are currently lower, except for one or two items. Dr. Khurshid stated that the visit was not pre-planned but aimed to ensure active field monitoring. Authorities highlighted that price control magistrates and district administration teams remain fully active, conducting checks during Sehri, Iftar, and routine market hours to maintain price stability and protect consumers from overcharging.
