Islamabad: The fifth meeting of the Emergency Response Committee, established on the instructions of the Prime Minister, was held at the NDMA Headquarters in Islamabad. The meeting focused on reviewing emergency preparedness, institutional coordination, response planning, and measures required to deal with possible crisis situations. Such high-level coordination is important for ensuring timely decisions, efficient resource deployment, and better communication among relevant departments during emergencies. Effective disaster management can help protect citizens, public infrastructure, housing areas, roads, and essential services in vulnerable regions. Stronger national preparedness also improves public confidence and reduces the impact of sudden disasters. Can improved emergency coordination strengthen Pakistan’s disaster response system?
