Dubai restores full road network after severe weather, RTA confirms

Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that Dubai’s entire road network has been fully restored following recent severe weather conditions. Officials stated that all major roads and key areas are now operational, with only minor issues that were resolved quickly. Authorities highlighted that extensive pre-planning played a crucial role, including installation of advanced drainage systems, pumps, retention ponds and smart sensors to manage rainwater efficiently. During the emergency, more than 380 pumps, 500 water tankers and 100 emergency vehicles were deployed, supported by around 1,300 personnel. Experts say the rapid recovery demonstrates Dubai’s strong infrastructure, effective planning and readiness to handle extreme weather situations.
