Lahore: Deputy Commissioner Lahore launched an intensive field operation to accelerate the drainage of rainwater from major roads and low-lying areas following heavy rainfall. During an inspection of GT Road, the deputy commissioner directed officials to keep all WASA disposal stations operational around the clock and deploy standby machinery immediately wherever water accumulation was reported. Field teams were instructed to remain present in vulnerable locations, monitor drainage continuously and ensure that traffic movement was restored without unnecessary delay. The district administration said the operation was being conducted under special directions from the Punjab government to reduce public inconvenience and respond quickly to monsoon-related emergencies.
