Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority carried out a major anti-encroachment operation in Chontra Village, demolishing 67 shops and 15 vacant houses that officials said had been constructed without authorization on state-owned land. Heavy machinery was used during the operation, which was supervised by the assistant commissioner with support from the district administration and police. Authorities said security personnel were deployed to maintain law and order throughout the exercise. The CDA has indicated that action against unauthorized occupation of public land in the area will continue as part of its broader campaign to enforce planning regulations and recover government property.
