Bus manufacturing plant becomes operational in Faisalabad

Faisalabad: A modern bus manufacturing plant has become operational in Faisalabad, marking a significant step in Pakistan’s transport and industrial sector. The facility, developed with an investment of approximately Rs 1.5 billion through collaboration between Haiker Company and Universal Motors, has produced its first bus. The plant is equipped to manufacture both diesel and electric buses, supporting future public transport expansion. The initial unit has been delivered to a private transport company, featuring an 8.9-litre diesel engine and advanced suspension system designed for smoother rides and improved passenger comfort. Officials believe this development will boost local manufacturing, reduce reliance on imports, and strengthen the country’s transport infrastructure.
