Bilal Yasin announces end of file system, PLRA verification made mandatory for property deals

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Housing Bilal Yasin chaired a key meeting at the Board of Revenue to review legal reforms aimed at ensuring transparency in land transactions. Officials announced that property purchases will no longer be based on paper files, and instead must be verified through location identification and official letters issued by the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA). The reforms aim to eliminate fraud, illegal plots and benami file trading by linking transactions to the Housing Schemes Management System. Authorities stated that NOCs for housing societies will be issued within 90 days, while a complaint redressal mechanism will also be introduced. The initiative is expected to significantly improve transparency and investor confidence in the real estate sector.
