Peshawar BRT to launch new feeder routes

Peshawar: Trans Peshawar’s Board of Directors has approved new feeder bus routes on Ring Road, Dilzak Road and Khyber Road, along with additional buses on the main BRT corridor to reduce passenger waiting time. The decision was made during the 46th board meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Islam Zeb. In response to rising commuter demand, the board also approved the purchase and inclusion of 52 new electric buses and 50 hybrid buses to improve eco-friendly operations and reduce carbon emissions. Despite rising fuel prices, fares will not be increased for passengers. Better BRT connectivity can improve urban mobility, commercial access and property demand along transit corridors. Will this upgrade reshape Peshawar’s public transport network?
