Lahore launches Rs23 crore Eid waste cleanup plan

Lahore: Lahore Waste Management Company has issued a tender worth more than Rs23 crore for a major Eidul Azha sanitation operation across the city. The company will run a three-day cleanliness campaign in nine towns to ensure quick collection and disposal of sacrificial animal waste during Eid. Officials said nearly 2,000 heavy machinery units will be deployed, including 979 dumpers, 330 excavators, 492 trolleys and 199 loaders. The plan aims to prevent waste buildup, control health risks and maintain urban cleanliness during the busiest festival days. Better sanitation can improve public health, neighborhood livability, commercial movement and property appeal. Will this operation help Lahore maintain a cleaner Eid environment?
