Islamabad: Bahria Town founder Malik Riaz has appealed to the government to intervene in the legal and financial disputes surrounding the company’s housing projects, claiming that restrictions on development, property seizures and auctions are threatening the investments and livelihoods of thousands of Pakistanis. He urged authorities to suspend what he described as low-value auctions, property transfers and possession proceedings until the disputes are decided by the relevant legal forums. According to his statement, this is his fourth appeal for negotiations or intervention since August 2025. Riaz also proposed restarting development work under transparent supervision and allocating an agreed portion of the proceeds towards outstanding liabilities. (Jang) His assertions about asset values, auction prices and economic consequences remain his own claims. Bahria Town’s properties have faced auction proceedings connected to cases pursued by the National Accountability Bureau, while related matters have also been heard by the courts.
