Sindh: A $3.5 billion refinery and storage complex planned by Falcon Oils in Dhabeji, Thatta district, has received endorsement from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Secretariat. The project will now move to the Board of Investment, which is expected to take it forward to the Joint Working Group on Industrial Cooperation. The proposed complex is being described as one of the major privately sponsored industrial investments in Pakistan’s petroleum and energy sector. If implemented, the project could bring significant private-sector investment into the country’s refining and storage capacity. Its location in Dhabeji could also strengthen the industrial and logistics potential of the surrounding area. The project remains subject to further approvals and development stages before construction and operations can proceed.
