In this phase, 200 new buses will be added to the public transport fleet, while a total of 1,100 electric buses will be operational across 42 cities by December 2025. The initiative aims to provide eco-friendly and affordable transportation, reduce traffic congestion, and curb air pollution in major urban centers. Bokhari stated that the project reflects Punjab’s commitment to clean mobility and sustainable infrastructure. The first phase of the electric bus program received positive public feedback, and the government plans to expand it further to additional routes and districts in the coming year.
