Lahore: Higher secondary schools in Lahore have reportedly failed to meet the enrollment target, with the current student strength standing at around 390,000. According to education department figures, the March 5 baseline was 393,000, meaning the present enrollment is still nearly 3,000 students below the earlier benchmark. For the current academic year, schools were assigned a target of around 430,000 students, leaving a shortfall of nearly 40,000 admissions. The District Education Authority has directed all schools to run an enrollment week, visit homes, make announcements in mosques, and ensure at least 10 new admissions per school.
