Punjab Livestock Minister reviews development projects and new initiatives

Lahore: Punjab’s Livestock and Agriculture Minister, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, visited the Livestock Secretariat to oversee ongoing development projects and review new initiatives for fiscal year 2026-27. The meeting, attended by Secretary Livestock Ahmed Aziz Tarar and senior officials, covered programs such as the Chief Minister Livestock Card, free distribution of cows and buffaloes to widows in Southern Punjab, supply of ultrasound machines in government veterinary hospitals, and herd transformation programs. The minister emphasized delivering timely, modern, and high-quality services to livestock owners and directed that all available resources be utilized efficiently. Officials noted that these initiatives will enhance disease control, increase livestock productivity, and expand export opportunities, benefitting small and medium farmers as well as the national economy.
