Muhammad Muzamil Awan: Lahore: The Punjab government is set to introduce major reforms in the water and sanitation sector by establishing a dedicated Research & Development system. Officials stated that a Punjab Water and Sanitation Institute will be created, while the scope of Al-Jazari Water & Sanitation Academy will also be expanded. Authorities highlighted that a scientific panel comprising experts and professors will be formed to guide innovation and improve sector performance. A modern monitoring lab has also been inaugurated to support data-driven decision-making. Experts believe that strengthening research, training and institutional capacity will significantly enhance service delivery, urban sanitation systems and long-term infrastructure planning across Punjab.
