Punjab takes strict action after violence against woman in public transport

Ali Raza Wajid: Lahore: The Punjab Transport Department has taken immediate action following an incident of violence against a woman in public transport. On the directions of Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, the involved bus conductor has been arrested, dismissed from service, and legal proceedings have been initiated. Authorities emphasized that passenger safety, especially women’s protection, is a top priority and no compromise will be made. The government has also issued a dedicated helpline (1071) for reporting such incidents and ensuring prompt response. Officials reiterated that strict enforcement measures will continue to provide a safe and respectful travel environment for all citizens across Punjab.
