Pakistan Railways increases passenger and freight train fares from March 9

Pakistan: Pakistan Railways has announced an increase in fares for passenger and freight trains across the country. According to officials, economy class fares will rise by 5 percent while AC class fares will increase by 10 percent. Freight train charges will also increase by 20 percent. Railway authorities said the revised fares will take effect from March 9 nationwide. The increase has been introduced in response to rising operational and fuel costs, as the department aims to maintain railway services and manage financial pressures.
