Diesel price cut brings fare relief, intercity fares reduced

Lahore: Following a Rs 32 per liter reduction in diesel prices, intercity and interprovincial transport fares have been reduced by up to 5%. Officials stated that the move aims to provide immediate relief to passengers. According to the revised fare list, major routes from Lahore have seen noticeable cuts. The Lahore–Karachi fare has been reduced from Rs 5,390 to Rs 5,120, while Lahore–Hyderabad dropped from Rs 5,020 to Rs 4,770. Similarly, Lahore–Sukkur fare decreased from Rs 3,630 to Rs 3,450, and Lahore–Multan from Rs 1,970 to Rs 1,870. Authorities have directed transporters to implement the new fares immediately, warning of strict action against overcharging. Experts believe the reduction will ease travel costs and support overall economic relief.
