Germany-backed €40M water project launched in Faisalabad

Muhammad Muzamil Awan: Faisalabad: A €40 million climate resilience and water supply project has been finalized between KfW Bank and WASA Faisalabad with support from German cooperation. The agreement was signed during a ceremony attended by German Ambassador H.E. Ms. Ina Lepel and local officials. The project includes rehabilitation of 25 tube wells, construction of a new water tank and six additional reservoirs, and upgrading Gulshan Water Works to a modern rapid sand filtration system. Officials stated that the initiative will enhance clean water supply and improve urban resilience against climate challenges. Work is expected to begin in the coming months following PC-I approval, significantly upgrading Faisalabad’s water infrastructure.
