Punjab Police resolve over 25,000 complaints through 1787 helpline

Lahore: Punjab Police has resolved over 25,000 public complaints through its IG Complaint Center 1787 during the current year, reflecting improved service delivery and monitoring. Inspector General Punjab Dr Rao Abdul Karim stated that complaints are being addressed within defined timelines under standard operating procedures. Authorities have strengthened the monitoring system, with district police officers directly overseeing complaint resolution. Officials reported that major categories included over 12,000 FIR-related complaints and more than 6,000 cases of delayed investigations, along with thousands linked to police services, recoveries, and arrests. The initiative aims to enhance transparency, accountability, and public trust by ensuring timely redressal of citizen grievances across the province.
