Lahore: A water filtration plant installed in a park near the Shah Jamal shrine has remained non-functional for a long period, creating serious difficulties for local residents seeking clean drinking water. According to residents, the taps of the filtration plant are missing and the tiles around the facility are broken, while the surrounding area lacks proper cleanliness and waste management. Locals said the plant was temporarily closed some time ago but has not been restored since then. Due to the unavailability of safe drinking water in the area, residents are forced to bring water from distant locations, adding to their daily hardships. Citizens have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate action, repair the filtration plant and restore cleanliness so the community can access clean drinking water near their homes.
