Punjab begins work on plan to link divisional headquarters with motorway network

Lahore: The Punjab government has initiated work on a plan to connect divisional headquarters across the province with the motorway network. The development was discussed during a meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Communications and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bherth. Officials were directed to begin technical working and identify locations where easy motorway links can be established. The project will evaluate connectivity options for major divisional headquarters including Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, DG Khan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi and Bahawalpur. Authorities were also instructed to review possibilities for linking districts such as Bahawalnagar and Rajanpur with the motorway network. The initiative aims to reduce travel time, improve transportation efficiency and enhance regional connectivity across Punjab.
