Punjab issues notification for nine town municipal corporations in Lahore

Lahore: The Punjab Local Government and Community Development Department has issued a formal notification establishing nine Town Municipal Corporations in Lahore and defining their respective union councils. According to the notification, Model Town will include 77 union councils, Shalimar 72, Lahore City 69, Ravi 52, Nishtar 40, Allama Iqbal 37, Raiwind 32, Sadar 29 and Wagah 25. Officials said the administrative restructuring aims to improve municipal governance, service delivery and urban management in the provincial capital. Authorities added that similar notifications for newly structured local government bodies in other districts of Punjab have also been issued as part of broader administrative reforms.
